At the crack of dawn on Saturday the 16th December 2017, I received a call from a friend of mine, Kerry, who in a small panic explained that a good friend of hers, Belinda, (whom I knew of) was part of a shoot for a maternity / family shoot for a local magazine up near Tala and the photographer for the project was unfortunately unable to shoot as she had fallen terribly ill.
It was time for round two of the Kruger weddings in 2017 and it truly was an fun filled one. Having already met most of the family on the groom's side in July of this year at Deon and Andrea's wedding it gave a wonderfully homey feeling to the day, and I felt like I was already part of the family in a way, ready to rock an amazing couple's day.
From the moment Kellan came into Erin's life he has been the light of her life and her absolute all. Kellan is such a happy little chap and love he has for his mum is unending and extra special. They are both number one in each other's lives and that's how they like it. These two are stuck together with glue and no one could ever pull them a part.
This wedding has been one I have been eager to shoot from the moment Gareth and Stacey said they wanted me to share and take part in shooting their day together and this was for two reasons. The first as it is the first wedding that I have done in Johannesburg and the second, Gareth and I went to high school together so I felt extremely honored when I was given the green light to capture his wedding.
For ages I have followed Beset Durban on Instagram and always wanted to go on one of their tours and I just never had the time to go, so a couple weeks ago I headed to my very first one and I have to say it was totally AWESOME!
Claire met with me for coffee at the end of last year to discuss my wedding photography packages in more detail, there is always a perk in meeting clients to run through things in person as you get the opportunity to get to know each other a little more. By the end of the meeting Claire and I had definitely clicked and were extremely excited to work with other in the future.
I first met Nick and Laura at the Midlands Bridal Fair that took place in February this year. They took part in my 'Insta Frame' Competition that I held at the fair and they won the prize which was this engagement shoot. After meeting with them for coffee to discuss when and where we would do the shoot as well as what sort of backdrop / theme they were wanting for their engagement shoot, I knew that it was going to be a goodie.
A wonderful down to earth, fun filled wedding, for a wonderfully down to earth and fun filled couple. Deon and Andrea's wedding had its moments leading up the ceremony that called for a few emotional moments and I along with many guests were extremely surprised and filled with loads of laughter at the reception after the groom's speech.
I recently did my first medical conference at the ICC in Durban and it was a huge success. Ascendis Pharma had a stand to exhibit their products to all delegates attending the conference. The whole event had a 1920's theme and the Ascendis team decided to have a Great Gatsby theme for their stand and the photo booth was a little extra fun they threw in for all who visited them.
So this past weekend was round two of a matric dance that was very close to my heart. I once again had the privilege of being a part of my cousins matric dance. When she walked through her apartment door my little Miss P was no where to be seen and a bright young woman stood in front of me.
This particular Matric dance holds a special place in my heart as it was for my dashing little cousin (well not so little anymore).
This is the first of 2 in my family this year.
It's nearly time for my first Bridal Fair in the Midlands and my preparations are well under way for an interactive and fun way for all the visiting brides to view my work and see what I am about and the best part is, I get a chance to get to meet all the wonderful brides and grooms attending the fair.

What a way to start the year – a high tea to allow industry service providers to view a venue that is currently under new management. This was a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow service providers and explore a wonderful venue.
Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday period and that you are ready for another year ahead. It's time to march into 2017 which I am sure will be one to remember and I would like to wish all my clients all the best for the year ahead.
